Wingfield Parish Council tries hard to organise and hold community events throughout the year and supports events run by others in the community, such as the Summer Fete.
The Parish Council overseas the ‘Hidden Gardens’ event, held every two years across the Parish. This very successful and popular event provides a framework for homeowners to open their gardens to locals and their wider families to enjoy impressive, interesting or just developing gardens! Refreshments are generously made available at locations around the village, making this a very social event. Please let the Parish Council know if you would like to open your garden next time!
Seed swaps, along with book and games exchanges, have been undertaken.
We have run events to assist householders to improve their heating efficiency through the borrowing of infra-red cameras that can be used to pinpoint poor insulation or where windows are ‘leaking heat’ through damaged panes or frames.
We welcome new ideas which will engage the community; if you have an idea you think others would enjoy and which the Parish Council may be able to assist with, please let us know!
