Parish Council meetings take place approximately every six weeks, at The Mead School or at Stowford Manor Farm; please check the meeting agenda for the venue details. Meetings start at 7:30pm and last about 1.5 hours. Everyone is welcome to attend. You don’t need to let us know if you’re planning to come along, but if you want to raise a specific issue it’s helpful to contact us in advance using the Contact Us link so councillors can prepare in advance.

Meeting dates: These are published on the Agenda & Minutes page. An upcoming meeting will be highlighted on this website’s news page, via our Wingfield Village Parish Council (Wilts) Facebook page and on the noticeboards throughout the village. Noticeboards are sited at:

  • On the B3109 opposite The Poplars pub
  • At Stowford Farm
  • Opposite ‘Loves Lane’ on the B366
  • At the bottom of Church Lane near the entrance to the Church

Meeting arrangements: The Parish Clerk prepares the meeting agenda in advance of the meeting, and will publish the agenda on this website at least three days prior to the meeting taking place.

Attending a meeting: Parish Council meetings are held in public and everyone is welcome to attend without notice or invitation. Please come along to meet  your Councillors and find out what’s going on in the village.

Having your say: If you wish to raise an issue or specific point at the meeting, there is opportunity to do so at the start of the meeting prior to the formal meeting starting. Ideally points raised in advance with the Clerk will help management of the meeting and allow pre-meeting preparation as required. Points raised will then be discussed and visitors are encouraged to stay for the formal meeting.

The formal meeting allows for discussion by Parish Councillors only. However, the Chair can allow necessary input from residents if that adds to clarification of the issue being discussed. The Chair will manage any public input and makes sure the  meeting is completed in a timely fashion.

Councillors are unpaid elected or co-opted representatives, undertaking the role to the betterment of the Parish and its residents. We will not tolerate any aggression, abusive language or behaviour. The Parish Council’s Standing Orders (rules) set out how any such behaviour will be dealt with, including provision for very disruptive people to be asked to leave the meeting.

Minutes: The Clerk takes the minutes of the meeting and will subsequently publish them and post them in the public forums of notice boards, Facebook page and this website (Parish Council Meeting minutes). We aim to make draft minutes available within 10 days of the meeting.
