Parish Councillors help with the maintenance of the village environment.
This is done through variety of measures, including:
- organising regular litter picks around the village.
- monitoring and encouraging the use of public footpaths and bridleways and by-ways.
- guiding the work of the Parish Steward during his monthly visit to the village.
- managing the contract for waste bins in the village (except for the bin opposite The Poplars and the two lay-by bins which are managed by Wiltshire Council).
If you spot a maintenance issue please report it to the Parish Council or Wiltshire Council as appropriate, with a description, or photo, of the issues and a clear indication of its location (e.g. What3Words location).
Maintenance issues such as potholes, damaged or broken road signs, an issue with pavements or drains are the responsibility of Wiltshire Council. Any incidents of fly-tipping should also be reported to Wiltshire Council through MyWilts.
