Wild Waters Festival 2026 events

After a successful first year, the Wild Waters Festival is back for 2026!

The Festival celebrates nature & community, with support from local councils and nature groups along the Bristol River Avon & its tributaries.

Wingfield Parish Council is delighted to host a family friendly ‘Wild About Nature Trail’ in Wingfield Village and the surrounding area, between 10am to 4pm on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June.

The event is designed for families and will have a range of activities to raise awareness of nature within our environment.
The event will include a trail around the village using an event map and aided by arrows sited around the area to encourage children to explore and learn to map read. There’ll be interesting facts along the way and things to look out for or activities. It should take around 1 to 2 hours depending on how many activities you engage with!

This is a fun event enabling learning for children of all ages through exploration and engagement in activities. These include:
 Learning about nature through information boards and associated activities
 Learning new skills through trial and error
 Making creative, nature-based items using recycled* materials
 Opportunity for longer term engagement through take-away nature-based activity
Products will be provided to enable all participants to undertake the activities.

*Recycled equipment is sourced from the Wiltshire Scrap Store and can be recycled after use.

Please note that due to the nature of the trail, there will be rough terrain and stiles which may make it difficult for some to navigate. Also note that there are NO public toilets available in the village. Children will need to be accompanied by an adult during the event. Hi-Viz vests can be borrowed at the start location to aid safety whilst walking around the village, to be returned at the end of the trail.

Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks has put together information to help people in being prepared for power cuts.

There’s also information on how to register for their priority service, for people who might benefit from extra support before, during or after a power cut. Perhaps you know of a neighbour or friend who might benefit from this.

See the Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks website for details.
